Police/Criminal Law

Given the scope, complexity, and nature of the University, the Office of University Counsel attorneys are sometimes called upon to provide advice and counsel related to police and other criminal matters.

Campus Legal Counsels work closely with the Chiefs of Police at the campuses to respond to issues that may arise or to provide general advice regarding legislation or case law. In addition to campus police, attorneys interact regularly with a wide variety of law enforcement or similar officials including local law enforcement and prosecutors, State police, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Immigration and Naturalization Service, Homeland Security, Attorney General, United States Attorney, and others.
