Lindsay Steel
Associate University Counsel
Lindsay joined the Office of University Counsel in October 2025. Her areas of responsibility include civil rights, privacy, records, admissions, and policy, among other matters. Before joining the University, Lindsay worked for the federal government for over twelve years where she led information access, privacy, and technology initiatives. Lindsay earned her JD from American University Washington College of Law, where she was Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Human Rights Brief. She also holds an MA from AU’s School of International Service and a BA from Towson University, where she was a member of the Honors College.
