Thomas R. Lamont
Tom joined the office in 2005. Prior to joining the University, Tom spent
more than 25 years in private practice as a partner in Chicago and downstate
law firms. In addition, he has served in a variety of public positions
including both as a member and executive director of the Illinois Board
of Higher Education; a member of the State University Retirement System
Board of Trustees; executive director, Office of the State Appellate Prosecutor;
Director of Civil Litigation, Office of the Illinois Attorney General;
as well as serving on the University's Board of Trustees for 13 years,
including three years as Chair of the Board. His areas of concentration
include administrative and regulatory issues
and legislative activities. Tom is a Colonel in the Illinois Army National
Guard and serves as the State Judge Advocate General. A graduate of the
