Gwen M. Geraghty
Gwen provides advice and counsel to the University on a broad variety of matters, including employment issues and litigation, student affairs including campus safety, discipline and grievances, and constitutional issues. Gwen joined the Office of University Counsel in August 2007 after fourteen years in private practice. Prior to joining the office, Gwen was a partner in the law firm of Dykema Gossett, PLLC, practicing in the areas of commercial and tort litigation, including general business, contract, intellectual property, financial services, professional and general liability, construction and employment-related claims, representing clients in various federal and state courts throughout the country. Gwen handled all facets of litigation from initial investigation through ultimate resolution, including injunctions, mediations, arbitrations, trials and appeals. She has lectured extensively on civil practice and procedure for the Illinois State Bar Association. Gwen received her law degree from Loyola University of Chicago.
