John B. Alsterda
John is a business lawyer who provides advice and counseling to the University on a wide array of contracts and transactions. After graduating from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1988, John served as a Staff Attorney for the Illinois Supreme Court and then worked for several years as an associate attorney in Champaign, Illinois. Prior to joining the Office of the University Counsel in October of 2007, John was a partner with a Chicago law firm where he practiced for 12 years in the areas of business law, real estate and commercial litigation. John received his B.A. in 1982 from The Colorado College. He is a member of the Chicago and Illinois State Bar Associations.
