Campus Legal Counsel - Springfield
Mark D. Henss
Mark came to the University in 1990 after eight years of private practice. He was appointed as UIS Campus Legal Counsel in 2007 and, as the only legal counsel on the Springfield campus, Mark is responsible for the delivery of all legal services to that campus and to its off-site locations. He also handles taxation issues related to real property for the University on all campuses, the University of Illinois Foundation and the Alumni Association, in addition to providing counsel on issues related to Freedom of Information Act matters. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Commerce, received his law degree from the University of Denver, and is licensed to practice law in both Illinois and Colorado.
